BIO
Biography.
With an early start performing contemporary services in North Carolina churches, Christian Fuhrer learned the drummers’ on stage duties by the age of 11. Fueled by a musical family and natural ability, Christian honed his skills under the wing of jazz/fusion veteran, Doug Morgan (Steve Morse Band, The Dixie Dregs). Christian studied under two additional private instructors throughout his youth, even learning the Moeller method from the late, legendary Jim Chapin, himself. By the age of 19 a passion for performing drove Christian beyond the walls of the church and on the road providing the backbeat grooves for Dove Award winning artist, Building 429. On-the-job experience facilitated by the foundation learned early on matured Christian as a person and musician.
By the age of 25 Christian had performed and recorded with numerous artists including Grammy nominated southern rockers, Decemberadio and Color Orange, an edgy, radio rock band, hot off the college circuit. Color Orange released a self titled EP which featured the single “Kennedy” co produced by Russ Fowler (Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine).
In 2012 Christian appeared on Ryan Hunt Band’s LP, “Control” which was released by Tate Music Group. He also recorded and toured with Phoenix alternative indie rockers, Covela. After spending nearly a year in the studio, Covela released their debut LP "Just Like Ivan". Within weeks the record was airing nationally and licensed to be featured on programming from networks MTV, VH1, Showtime, E! and Discovery among others. “Just Like Ivan” also earned Covela an invitation to perform South By Southwest's 2013 Red Gorilla Music Festival.
Christian founded Brown Mutt Music in early 2014 as an avenue to write and produce his solo material. Before long, demand for his services expanded Brown Mutt Music beyond Christian's music to artists from all over the region.
